IconProcess Plug-ins
While the Unified Process (UP) has become the defacto world-wide IT process standard, too little attention has been paid to the development of Internet-based e-Business applications. Therefore, Icon has created two new plug-ins within the Unified Process framework called Web-enabled User-Centered Design and e-Business Strategy. These plug-ins support one another and both were developed by Icon.
These and other Icon plug-ins represent an open source body of knowledge and set of best practices for developing processes in the e-Business strategy and Web-enabled User-Centered Design (UCD) areas.
e-Business Strategy plug-in
This e-Business Strategy enhancement to the Unified Process is organized as a plug-in for IBM Rational Method Composer (RMC) and the open-source Eclipse Process Framework Composer (EPFC). This plug-in is typically published as part of a larger process-based web site for your organization using the aforementioned tools. The material in this plug-in is offered free under the terms of the Eclipse Public License v1.0 as a public service and for the benefit of the global Information Technology community.
Web-enabled User-Centered Design (UCD) plug-in

The Open Unified Process (OpenUP) is a part of the Eclipse Process Framework (EPF), an open source process framework developed within the Eclipse Foundation. It provides best practices from a variety of software development thought leaders and the broader software development community that cover a diverse set of perspectives and development needs.
The OpenUP is an example of a comprehensive software process which a process engineer would extend with the IconProcess plug-ins.
