Purpose

To define how the business will operate. The team sets priorities for detailing business processes and redesign the organization. The Role: Business Designer and Role: Business Process Analyst design the organizational vision of the business, including key business patterns and organizational structures and responsibilities.

This activity includes identifying gaps between the existing operations and the envisioned future, as well as defining the project's approach to assimilating organizational and technological changes.

Frequency

The timing and number of iterations required to establish an acceptable operational approach varies greatly from project to project, depending on the extent of change and the organization's ability to assimilate it. This work begins during Inception.
