Purpose

To identify the boundary of the business being modeled. This is done by defining the business actors (roles external to the business) and outlining the key business services or processes that those roles use. This information is captured in an Artifact: Business Use Case Model.

Frequency

This activity is usually done once per iteration, with most work occurring in the Inception iterations. This activity would be repeated in later phases only if the business processes or business actors must be redefined.
