Purpose
These guidelines document important modeling decisions and increase consistency among team members' work on a single project or work across multiple projects. Guidelines typically cover:
- Naming conventions
- Writing style for business use cases
- Content required when defining business entities
- Content required when defining business workers or roles
Other topics such as locally preferred patterns, stereotypes, etc. may be included, too.
Audience
The following roles use the Business Modeling Guidelines:
- The Role: Business Process Analyst and Role: Business Designer use the guidelines to capture modeling and style decisions for business level models. Once written, these roles use them as directions for subsequent work.
- Other roles such as Stakeholders, Requirements Analysts, and Testers may use the guidelines to understand how the models were formed or the style used in the documentation.
